Network law and information five years from now

The law I agree the most with is the Metcalfe one. Why ?
I think the more people we have on a network the more value that network has because relations, interactions and communications between the members strongly increase. Even if there are not that much communications through private message on facebook for example, people can still "like" or comment what members on their network share. At least, people see what members share. Connections are not all the same but I think that it's more the networks themselves which are not equal. For example, the more members there are on a website as online-dating site. The more guys or girls talk to another person, the more valuable is the website. That's why the Metcalfe's law is the one I agree the most with.

In five years, I people will receive their informations through social media, for example with facebook or twitter. Newspapers will all be present on social media, they will share link of article on their website and it will be through their website that people will get their information. All articles will be free, newspapers will earn money with advertising. It means that way more people will have access to internet in the world in five years, with the quick expansion of internet, probably four billion of people. The television will be on the decline because we don't really believe to it no more for informations, it is controled by the politics and the big companies. I think that printed newspapers will increase as well, hopefully it will be the renewal of the printed reading. People will get bored of the way they receive information on television because it is only about entertainment even for the religious shows. That's why informations that would be well explained on internet or printed will increase as the sale of books about politics.

  1. Hey Benjamin,
I think that you are right saying that people will rely on much of their information through social media in the next five years. With the increasing number of people joining social media sites every day I think that we will only continue to see more and more information shared virally through social media.
