1) Convergence culture is the current culture, in which one we using different kinds of media and so it forms one and only one media. I think the best example is the new smartphones as Iphone or Samsung Galaxy. We use them to listen music but also to go on social media as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat, We can read the news as well, know what time it is, text people, call people, email them, take pictures, watch movies...
2) Creative engagement is when you are using ideas and reviews from your employees but mainly from your clients. For example, Some TV shows went on forums which were talking about the series to adapt, change their scenario and so to make it unpredictable.

Blog assignement 5
1) The long tail theory is when a company decide to sell a large amounts of different products and not only the mainstreams one because the distribution costs are low. My example is Netflix, through their large choice of tv shows and the exclusivity for some of them like House of Cards. So people are choosing netflix because its concurrent are amazon, Hulu plus and they have way less choice of tv shows and movies online. So, by having more choice and more exclusive tv shows, Netflix is "killing" the concurrence.
2) Among the six online consuming segments, I see myself in the Sportster one. As an athlete and a huge fan of soccer I spend most of my online time on Soccer Website reading article about transfers, inteviews of players and coachs, but also looking for new cleats and new way to improve my performances. I spend about 6 to 10hours a month to read about soccer online. I actually write also some articles online about soccer.

Privacy and enhanced personalization
Safety is currently becoming a major problem on internet, people don't really know how to protect their own data. With the increasing number of people of social medias as Facebook, Twitter, or even instagram, and snapchat, people share datas without even thinking about them. At the beginning of Internet, people were did not trust on it so they were not sharing almost any personal information. Now, we share the place we live, our credit card numbers or the place we study... But it stills a new technology, people are not completely aware of how it works.
Today, personalization is coming up really quickly because people feel more safe about sharing private informations so companies can use those informations to personalize their products, their websites as Google is doing it. For example, when I'm looking for new clothes on internet, and the next day I will see some advertisements on facebook about the same kind of clothes I was looking for. Sometimes it is really helpful to find some good clothes or products, but it is scary as well, they know everything that you are looking online, they may know your credit card, the place you live...
And this is why we need the law to protect us, internet users against this "violation" of our private life by big companies as Google, Facebook, Amazon... It is scary because we don't know how deep it is, the recent case about snapchat stolen pictures shows us how scary it is. This case on internet where some people were able to see a lot of snapchat that we have send.

New Media and Technology
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/16/fashion/your-instagram-picture-worth-a-thousand-ads.html?_r=0
I chose this article from the NY time because I think it is very important. It shows how brands use instagram to promote their products and how the "instagramers" gain from this and have free stuffs as Nike shoes or free trip. To gain those stuffs, they have to upload some pictures on instagram with that brands and the product that the brand want to show, to promote.
But to "earn" those products, instagramers must have a lot of followers who will see the pictures so the products. More they have followers, more they will be sought by the company.
I think this is why there are so much account specialized on such subject as fashion (men or women), car, fitness etc...
According to me, instagram will become bigger, there will be more and more advertising unlikely the advertising on TV.

Network law and information five years from now
The law I agree the most with is the Metcalfe one. Why ?
I think the more people we have on a network the more value that network has because relations, interactions and communications between the members strongly increase. Even if there are not that much communications through private message on facebook for example, people can still "like" or comment what members on their network share. At least, people see what members share. Connections are not all the same but I think that it's more the networks themselves which are not equal. For example, the more members there are on a website as online-dating site. The more guys or girls talk to another person, the more valuable is the website. That's why the Metcalfe's law is the one I agree the most with.
In five years, I people will receive their informations through social media, for example with facebook or twitter. Newspapers will all be present on social media, they will share link of article on their website and it will be through their website that people will get their information. All articles will be free, newspapers will earn money with advertising. It means that way more people will have access to internet in the world in five years, with the quick expansion of internet, probably four billion of people. The television will be on the decline because we don't really believe to it no more for informations, it is controled by the politics and the big companies. I think that printed newspapers will increase as well, hopefully it will be the renewal of the printed reading. People will get bored of the way they receive information on television because it is only about entertainment even for the religious shows. That's why informations that would be well explained on internet or printed will increase as the sale of books about politics.

Why we blog ?
Through internet, people are able to talk about everything anonymously or not.
According to statista, in 2006, internet had 36 million blogs; in 2011, it had 173 million blog.
I guess today they are probably way more blogs than 173 million.
People blog for many reasons, they all have an interest to blog, which may be economic, politic, social or just enjoying that.
People use this freedom on internet to talk about every subject from their own thought or using several sources. They may create a virtual identity and become someone else, someone that they want to be. It may about fashion stuff, sports, politics or traveling... It may also be someone who just tells us his daily life or creates a story as a novel.
For example, through fashion blogs, bloggers can earn money if their blog is viewed by a large amount of people who believe in it.
Blogs allow people to have an easy access to information, for example if they want buy something they will look for reviews and they can find some in blogs. Or for people who want to get news about politics and laws that just passed.
But blogs don't have only good sides, through this freedom of speech, some people may abuse of it. This is why we have blogs about Nazi, terrorist, mafia, klu klu klan, drugs… And that affect in a bad way the readers.
But blogs can have great objectives, as fundraising for great causes as Cancer, orphans, sickness people. Or it may be a real story of someone living something bad in his life, and with his blog he may receive some helps through comments or online friendship, readers must cheer him. I think this is one of the most beautiful reasons of why we blog.
